Ferrous Coatings

The addition of silicon polymers to traditional urethane, epoxy and acrylic coatings has brought the better of two worlds together: the vapor permeability, UV resistance, and thermal properties of silicon, coupled with film flexibility, ease of application, and chemical resistance of organic polymers.  These hybrids reduce the PCC content of the coating - further reducing VOC's and the use of precious, petroleum feed stocks.

Siloseal SB
™ i
s a clear two-part, solvent based, polyorganosiloxane polymer system formulated to serve as a protective top coat/primer system for steel and cast iron.  It may also be employed as a top coat for organic polymer undercoats, plastics, and fiberglass surfaces to protect the substrate or organic coating from fading and oxidation and from UV deterioration.   It does not contain pigments, opacifiers, or colorants.  It has been formulated to give an attractive, depth-of-shine, texture to masonry surfaces and to restore gloss to oxidized fiberglass surfaces.

Galvanicoat
™ is a water-based, acrylic/polyorganosiloxane hybrid polymer coating that incorporates a phosphoric acid etch, an inorganic pigmenting system, and svariable concentrations of acrificial zinc powder.  Produced as a two pack system, the applicator may site adjust the concentration of zinc in the field to meet varying galvanic demands.  Galvanicoat is employed in industrial systems that incorporate dis-similiar galvanic metals.  Galvanicoat™ also serves as a primer for steel and cast iron surfaces that are lightly rusted or unable to be fully cleaned of rust.  It has been formulated to comply with US EPA AAIM VOC regulations and contains less than 250g/l of VOC’s and 10% PCC’s.
