Despite the advances in the development of modern coatings, their effectiveness remains vulnerable to the level of investment made in cleaning and preparing the surface to be coated. There are thousands of effective cleaners and surface preparation formulations that will remove grit, grime, rust and stains. Most are produced by highly reputable and conscientious manufacturers. Many of these products are compatible with the Silicon Derivatives products and we do not restrict the application of our coatings to the exclusive use of our proprietary cleaners.
We have formulated our cleaners to meet the most stringent demands such as removal of heavily embedded oils and greases, difficult organic or mineral stains drawn into porous surfaces, baked-on carbon compounds, and protein-based residues. Our formulations provide the "extra strength - industrial grade" ability that may not be sourced with traditional producers of detergents and cleaners.

Masonry Cleaner™ is a water-based solution containing a proprietary blend of mineral acids and surfactants. It is used to remove efflorescence, grout and mortar smears, and excess calcium deposits from various masonry surfaces. Masonry Cleaner? does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOC?s), and has been formulated to comply with US EPA AAIM VOC regulations and does not contain PCCs.

Organowash™ - A non-chlorine oxidizing powder formulated to remove organic stains and mold, mildew and algae from tile, porous masonry surfaces, and cement blocks and pavers. It will also remove atmospheric pollutants from smooth surfaces such as powder coated aluminum siding. Organowash? is an environmentally benign product, does not contain PCC?s, and complies with US EPA AAIM VOC regulations.

Alkawash™ – is employed to remove heavy soil, grit and baked-on carbon deposits. It is also is a tool cleaner following application of siloxanes coatings and sealers. It is employed to remove the build-up of protein deposits (hair, caissons, fibers, etc) from drains, tanks and metallic surfaces. Alkawash™ is very alkaline and must be used with extreme caution. Neither Alkawash™ nor Alkagel™ contains PCC’s.
Alkagel™ – In addition to the ingredients contained in Alkawash™, Alkagel™ contains an inorganic rheology modifier to allow the creation of a thick paste that can be applied over heavily soiled areas or employed in a mixture of absorbents to create a poultice. Alkagel™ is employed to remove previously applied silioxane coatings and sealers. It can also remove most varnishes and organic coatings, including urethanes and epoxies. It is an excellent oven cleaner capable of removing baked-on organic compounds from metallic surfaces. It can be employed to remove the build-up of protein deposit materials (hair, caissons, fibers, etc) from drains, tanks and metallic surfaces. Alkagel™ is very alkaline and must be used with extreme caution. Alkagel™ contains no PCC’s.

Oileowash™ is a concentrated, water-based, hard surface cleaner employed to remove heavy grease and oil build-up. In a diluted form, it is an all-purpose cleaner for metals, glass and plastics. Oileowash™ does contain a modest level of volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and has been formulated to comply with US EPA AAIM VOC regulations. This product contains less than 5% PCCs.

Mineralwash™ is a concentrated water-based solution used for the removal of iron, magnesium and calcium deposits from masonry, plastic or fiberglass gel-coat surfaces. Mineralwash™ is an acidic solution and should be applied with caution. Mineralwash™ has been formulated to comply with US EPA AAIM VOC regulations and contains no PCC’s.

Tarniclean™ is a water-based paste, incorporating a soft abrasive to wipe-on and wipe-off brass cleaner. It is a surface preparation system used prior to top coating with 5% silane spray or dip coating to protect from future tarnishing. Tarniclean™ is an environmentally benign and contains no PCC’s.

Graffiti Remover™ is a water based solution designed to remove most acrylic and organic polymer based inks and paints from siloxane sealers or fluorocarbon films applied to masonry surfaces. Graffiti Remover™ has been formulated to comply with US EPA AAIM VOC regulations and contains no PCC?s.
